This is dedicated to the wonderful woman who guided me through the trials of life these past few years.
Love you sweetie.
Introduction
Self-loathing is often the root of hostility toward fellow human beings, animals or nature. Every person, dead or alive has at one time or another discovered something about themselves, which he or she has found distasteful, even though some will never admit it, even to themselves. These idiosyncrasies may easily stay hidden to some people for their entire lifetime, yet to others they are blatantly obvious. Many people will admit that they have some aberrant behaviour but refuse even to try changing, ending any thought of modifications with a phrase like “Well that’s just the way I am, I can’t change what I am.”
Changing how you think and act seems to be a useless endeavour for many people. They try to change and fail, they try again and fail again, and again ... It is no wonder that so many people give up even trying. Remember: You are not alone; millions of people have been down the same path.
How many self-help methods have you tried, eventually giving up in frustration because either they totally fail to help or the effects are short lived? The basic flaw with most of the material out there is it tries to make you believe that you are a wonderful, powerful, and capable of anything person, merely by repeating some good, wholesome word/phrase or thought. Repitition is great, but only if you have a good sense of self-worth to begin with.
Most self-help methods utterly fail at addressing the main hindrance to changing yourself; they do not tell you that before you can make a lasting change of ANY type you need to believe that you are worth changing! If you have any thoughts such as "I am not worth changing", "I can't change", "I don't need to change", "Why change when he/she/they are not going to", "Other people will notice", "Other people will not notice", add your own self doubt list here too, you will not change.
Well, no matter what you or anyone else may think or feel about you, let me be the first to say that " YOU ARE WORTH IT ! , I AM WORTH IT ! , WE ARE WORTH IT ! " Everybody in the world is worth changing for the better, I'll bet at some time you have felt you are not worth feeling good about yourself, yet at the same time thinking someone else is.
You have the right to believe in yourself merely because you were born!
The intent of this post is to start you thinking about your self-image.
